Islands of Interest

• Paros is a laid back Island with nice beaches, little villages and good ferry connections to all the other Islands. You might end up in Paros on your way to/from Samos.
  For accommodation check out:
  Rooms Mike in Parikia — Phone (0284) 22 856. This is a great place, Mike is very friendly and helpful. This accommodation gets very busy during high season so its best to make a reservation. Call ahead and he will usually meet people at the port.
• Naxos is a wonderful Island with a beautiful old town and castle. It is not as touristy as some of the other Greek islands. There are 500 monastaries here and you can explore on foot following one of the many walking trails.
  In the low season you can get great romms at great rates. (Try the incredible ice cream in Naxos!)
• Ios is the party island so if thats what you are after then...
  Far Out Camping is for you. Staff will greet people at the port.
  Franscesa is located in town for people who want to be closer to the bars.
• Samos Most people just use Samos Island as a stepping stone to Turkey, however, if you have time, the Island itself is quite lovely. There are a few ruins on Samos, nice villages and beaches. The Island of Patmos (the Jerusalem of the Aegean) is a day trip from here.
  If you are taking the fast boat from Paros/Naxos to Samos and it gets in at midnight we suggest you make a reservation for accommodation before you arrive.

Friendly Warning

Ephesus is located in Selçuk. Contrary to popular belief, transportation from Kuşadası to Selçuk is frequent and inexpensive — an overnight stopover in Kuşadası is not mandatory! Kuşadası is generally popular with 'cruise ship tourists' whereas Selçuk is more popular with backpackers.
